Upgrading to a Newer Version of DD-WRT
======================================
If DD-WRT is already installed on your router,
you can simply upgrade to a new version via the web interface or TFTP.
However, it is highly recommended that you restore the router to defaults using the reset button before and after flash.

webgui
======
Your default username/password is always root/admin.

If you can't get into your webgui, try telnet or ssh, where the username is always root.

You have to hit "apply" for your changes to be made permanent.
"Save" just stores them temporarily in memory without actually writing them.


Options
=========
Assign WAN Port to Switch : Optionally enable this to use the WAN port as another LAN port

Static DHCP address assignments = (จ่าย ip เดิมให้กับ client)

Additional DDNS support (รองรับ dyndns ทำให้เข้าถึง router ได้ถึงแม้ว่า ip address จะเปลี่ยน)

ขยายสัญญาณ wireless จาก nlink ด้วย WRT54GL

1) Update fireware WRT54GL
===========================
ผมทำตามขั้นตอนจาก http://spalinux.com/2009/04/install_dd-wrt_firmware_on_linksys_wrt54gl

โดย fireware ของ dd-wrt v24 preSP2 (Build13064)
ซึ่งไฟล์ที่ใช้ upgrade คือ dd-wrt.v24_mini_generic.bin
และ dd-wrt.v24_std_generic.bin

ปล. ตอน upgrade เป็น mini เมื่อเข้าหน้า admin console มันแจ้งบน title bar ว่า error
ไม่ได้สนใจมัน upgrade ต่อด้วย std แล้ว error ก็หายไป

# Under Wireless -> Basic Settings:
* Wireless mode: Repeater
* Wireless Network mode: (set to match the host)
* Wireless Network Name (SSID): the SSID of the network you connect to
* Network Configuration: Bridged
* Save
* Add 1 virtual interface
* Enter a new (unique) SSID of your choice
* Wireless SSID Broadcast: Enable
* AP Isolation: Disable
* Network Configuration: Bridged
* Save
(หลังจาก apply change และ reboot router
Wireless mode มันเปลี่ยนเป็น Repeater Bridge เอง)

# Under Security:
* Uncheck all items in the "Block WAN Request" section (except Filter Multicast)....THEN disable the SPI firewall


4) Go Online
============
เมื่อใช้งานเครือข่าย, ก็เชื่อมต่อไปยัง SSID ของ virtual interface ได้เลย

====
- ผมกำหนดความปลอดภัยด้วย mac address filter เพียงอย่างเดียว
ไม่ได้ใช้ WEP หรือ WPA เป็นต้น
(ซึ่งไม่ได้ลงรายละเอียดไว้)

- เมื่อต้องการเข้า control panel
ของ nlink ก็ http://192.168.1.1/
ถ้าของ WRT54GL ก็ http://192.168.1.101/
